|---|---|
| Species | C. elegans |
| Genotype | siss-1(csn20) IV. |
| Description | siss-1(csn20) homozygotes are defective in stress-induced sleep (SIS) but otherwise normal (homozygous viable, fertile, morphologically and behaviorally wild-type). siss-1, formerly known as igeg-1, encodes an EGFR ligand. The csn20 mutation is a single amino acid substitution of one of the conserved Cysteines within the EGF domain and phenocopies deletion alleles of this gene. Reference: Hill et al. 2024.
