Strains contributed by this laboratory

Strain Genotype Species Description
FK134 ttx-3(ks5) X. C. elegans Abnormal in thermotaxis. Cryophilic (cold-seeking) and abnormal in isothermal tracking.
FK163 cam-1(ks52) II. C. elegans Deletion of the tyrosine kinase domain of kin-8. Partial Daf-c especially on an old lawn of E. coli. Reduced daf-7 expression in ASI. Dye-filling defective in ASI. Abnormal ASI cell position. 10-20% of animals show withered (Wit) tail phenotype or defects in elongation or migration of posterior gonad. Previously called kin-8.
FK171 mek-1(ks54) sek-1(qd127) X. C. elegans Hypersensitive to copper and cadmium ions, and to starvation. [NOTE: Prior studies suggested possible cross-regulation of PMK-1 by MEK-1, but the identification of a tightly linked partial loss-of-function mutation in sek-1(qd127) in the strain carrying the mek-1(ks54) mutant allele (K. Reddy and D. Kim, unpublished data) suggests that the diminished PMK-1 activation observed in this mutant strain may actually be due to diminished SEK-1 activity.]
FK181 ksIs2. C. elegans ksIs2 [daf-7p::GFP + rol-6(su1006)]. Rollers.
FK183 daf-11(ks67) V; ksEx29. C. elegans ksEx29 [daf-7::GFP + lin-44::GFP]. Maintain by picking GFP. daf-7::GFP is dark or invisible. lin-44::GFP is bright in the tail. Grows better at 15C.
FK223 egl-4(ks60) IV. C. elegans Larger body size, longer lifespan, egg-laying defect, male tail abnormal.
FK229 egl-4(ks61) IV. C. elegans Larger body size, longer lifespan, egg-laying defect, male tail abnormal.
FK234 egl-4(ks62) IV. C. elegans Larger body size, longer lifespan, egg-laying defect, male tail abnormal.
FK311 ceh-36(ks86) X. C. elegans Defective chemotaxis to Na+ and isoamyl alcohol.
FK312 sma-5(n678) X. C. elegans Made by crossing MT3353 egl-15(n484) sma-5(n678) with N2 males and selecting animals that grew much better. FK312 probably only carries the sma-5(n678) mutation but that has not been confirmed by sequencing. Small body size, slow growth, abnormal intestinal granules, shorter lifespan than WT.
FK410 sma-2(e502) III; sma-5(n678) X. C. elegans Very small. Small brood size (about 1/10 that of WT). Grows very slowly. Reference: Watanabe, N et al. Genes to Cells 2007. 12(5):603-609.
FK412 sma-4(e729) III; sma-5(n678) X. C. elegans Very small. Small brood size (about 1/10 that of WT). Grows very slowly. Line A. Reference: Watanabe, N et al. Genes to Cells 2007. 12(5):603-609.
FK413 sma-4(e729) III; sma-5(n678) X. C. elegans Very small. Small brood size (about 1/10 that of WT). Grows very slowly. Line C. Reference: Watanabe, N et al. Genes to Cells 2007. 12(5):603-609.
FK430 lin-15B&lin-15A(n309) X; ksEx30. C. elegans ksEx30 [dyf-3::GFP + lin-15(+)].
PR767 ttx-1(p767) V. C. elegans
