Strains carrying this variation

Strain Genotype Species Description
JK867 dpy-17(e164) ncl-1(e1865) unc-36(e251) III; qDp3 (III;f). C. elegans Animals which have the Duplication are Dpy. Animals which have lost the Duplication are DpyUncNcl. qDp3 homozygotes are lethal. Maintain by picking Dpy non-Unc. Do not distribute this strain; other labs should request it from the CGC. This strain cannot be distributed to commercial organizations. This strain cannot be used for any commercial purpose or for work on human subjects.
JS604 dpy-17(e164) tlk-1(tm2395) III/hT2 [bli-4(e937) let-?(q782) qIs48] (I;III). C. elegans Heterozygotes are WT with pharyngeal GFP signal, and segregate WT GFP, arrested hT2 aneuploids, and Dpy Stu homozygotes that are non-GFP. Homozygous hT2[bli-4 let-? qIs48] inviable.
ML1214 pros-1(mc41)/dpy-17(e164) unc-32(e189) III. C. elegans Heterozygotes are WT and segregate WT, Dpy Uncs, and dead L2 larvae that are translucent and often found away from the bacterial lawn (can be difficult to spot on the lawn). [NOTE: mc41 was initially described as an allele in rdy-3, but the affected gene has since been identified as pros-1]
MQ141 dpy-17(e164)/clk-1(e2519) clk-2(qm37) III. C. elegans Hets are WT and segregate WT, Dpys and maternally rescued clk double mutants (WT). To study clk double mutants, pick WT worms singly onto plates. Maternally rescued clk-1 clk-2 worms segregate very slow hatching and developing progeny and no Dpys. Double mutants do not give a viable strain but rather die out over a few generations.
MQ223 clk-3(qm38) II; gro-1(e2400)/dpy-17(e164) III. C. elegans Develops slowly (at the clk-3(qm38) rate). Segregates 1/4 Dpy. gro-1(e2400) is maternally rescued. clk-3; gro-1 doubles throw no Dpy and their progeny develop very slowly. To maintain strain pick WT worms singly onto plates and score progeny.
MQ224 clk-3(qm38) II; clk-1(qm30)/dpy-17(e164) III. C. elegans Develops slowly (clk-3(qm38) rate). clk-1(qm30) is maternally rescued. Segregates 1/4 Dpy progeny. To study clk-3; clk-1 doubles place WT worms singly onto plates-the clk doubles will throw no Dpys and their progeny develop extremely slowly (about 3 days to hatch and 10 days for postembryonic development)-they will be sterile when they finally become adults.
MQ524 dpy-17(e164)/gro-1(e2400) clk-2(qm37) III. C. elegans Hets are WT and segregate WT, Dpys and maternally rescued GroClks (WT). To study gro-1 clk-2 doubles, pick WT worms singly onto plates. Maternally rescued gro-1 clk-2 worms segregate very slow hatching and developing progeny and no Dpys. Double mutants do not give a viable strain but rather die out after a few generations.
MQ809 dpy-17(e164) dec-7(qm166) III. C. elegans Dpy. Fast defecation.
MS231 dpy-17(e164) ncl-1(e1865) unc-36(e251) III; irDp1 (III;f). C. elegans Superficially WT. Pick WT to propagate. Throws WT (expressing unc-119::YFP) and DpyUncs. irDp1 is sDp3 carrying a spontaneous integrant of an array carrying unc-119::YFP + unc-32(+) + med-1(+), originally generated in BC4638. irDp1 appears to complement everything sDp3 does and has a similar meiotic transmission frequency of 60%. In another strain, irDp2 was observed to lose ability to complement dpy-17. irDp1 confers a progressive adult egg laying defect (also seen with sDp3).

TY1353 yDf10 unc-32(e189)/unc-93(e1500) dpy-17(e164) III. C. elegans Heterozygotes are Unc-93 and segregate more Unc-93, yDf10 homozygotes (dead eggs) and Unc-93 Dpy-17 homozygotes (young dpy-17 larvae are easily recognizable as abnormal spindle-shaped things). Difficult to maintain and use. yDf10 apparently causes semi-sterility (a second strain constructed by the Mark Edgley at the CGC, yDf10/qC1, exhibits same sterility), and unc-93 is Egl and difficult to mate into. Some Df homozygotes are laid, but most remain inside the mother.
