Strains carrying this gene

Strain Genotype Description
JT6130 hsp-90(p673) V. Recessive Daf-c mutation that also causes Odr and Che defects. Maintain at 15C. [The mec-1 mutation present in the original isolates has been eliminated.] Previously known as daf-21.
LL1009 hsp-90(nr2081)/nT1 [unc-?(n754) let-?] (IV;V). Heterozygotes are Unc and segregate Unc, dead eggs and arrested larvae. Published as LL1008. Previously known as daf-21.
PR673 hsp-90(p673) V. Defective in chemotaxis to all attractants and to D-tryptophan; partially defective in chemotaxis to CO2(phosphate) and H+(citrate). Thermotaxis weak. p673 previously called tax-3 or daf-21.
VC914 hsp-90(ok1333) V/nT1 [qIs51] (IV;V). C47E8.5. Homozygous lethal deletion chromosome balanced by GFP-marked translocation. Heterozygotes are WT with pharyngeal GFP signal, and segregate WT GFP, arrested nT1[qIs51] aneuploids, and non-GFP ok1333 homozygotes (paralyzed Unc, mid- to late-larval arrest). Homozygous nT1[qIs51] inviable. Pick WT GFP and check for correct segregation of progeny to maintain. Previously known as daf-21.
